The True Cost of an Irish Wedding
Confetti magazine’s 2019 Wedding survey results are in! Ireland’s number one wedding magazine conducts a survey each and every year to find out the gritty details behind Ireland’s wedding trends, and the latest revelations might just surprise you!
The Irish bridal bible has revealed that the average overall wedding budget in 2018 was €27,120 – a €2,120 increase on 2017’s €25,000 result, and it also showed that 41% of Irish couples pay for the wedding themselves, with 42% getting a little financial help from both parents. Furthermore, 30% of the recently married couples surveyed confessed to going over budget!
The average engagement ring cost was also revealed, with Irish couples spending a massive €4,080 on their sparkler – which is where Fields the Jeweller comes in. We love our engaged couples, and we want them to come back to Fields for their wedding rings, anniversary gifts and more – which is why, when you buy a full-price engagement ring from Fields the Jeweller, we’ll give you a 25% discount on your wedding rings and on jewellery for your entire bridal party.
Other noteworthy results from confetti’s 2019 wedding survey also revealed that 17% of couples get engaged in December, with New Year’s Eve proving the most popular December date of all, with 29% of those engagements happening as the ball drops! It also showed that the average length of an Irish engagement is 20 months (plenty of time to get saving) and that the average cost of an Irish hen or stag party is €610.
