G-SHOCK, the watch that brought the new concept of toughness to the timepiece.
It began with a reckless challenge to the conventional wisdom of the day, a developer’s belief that it was possible to construct a watch that wouldn’t break, even if dropped. Project Team Tough was formed to build it in 1981. The team created over 200 prototypes one after another over a period of about two years. They finally arrived at a shock-resistant structure. This marked the birth of a technology that is tough to the core.

G-SHOCK was created by Casio in 1983, born from a mission to build the world’s toughest watch. The original concept, developed by engineer Kikuo Ibe, aimed to create a timepiece that could withstand shock, vibration, and extreme conditions. The result was the DW-5000C — the first G-SHOCK. Since then, the brand has evolved into a global icon, combining rugged durability with cutting-edge technology and bold design.
G-SHOCK watches are built for durability, performance, and style. Designed to withstand shock, impact, and water, they’re trusted by athletes, adventurers, and everyday wearers alike. With advanced features like solar power, Bluetooth connectivity, and world time, G-SHOCK offers cutting-edge function in a bold, reliable design. It’s a watch made to keep up with any lifestyle — no matter how tough the conditions.
To change the time on most G-SHOCK watches:

1. Hold the Adjust button (usually top left) for a few seconds until the watch beeps and the time digits start flashing.
2. Use the Mode button (bottom left) to cycle through settings like seconds, hours, minutes, etc.
3. Use the Forward or Reverse buttons (usually bottom right/top right) to change the values.

Once done, press Adjust again to exit the setting mode.
Note: Some models, especially digital-analog or Bluetooth-enabled watches, may have a slightly different process. Always refer to your model’s manual for exact instructions.
