Christine Synnott - a career as solid as a rock
Tell us about your career with Fields, Christine.
I have been working with Fields for 14 years, I originally started as a Sales Consultant and progressed to management through our Management Training Programme.
I have had lots of opportunities to work in many different branches over the years, including opening our Galway store, which was a personal highlight for me.
I now also facilitate our diamond workshops to help develop our teams’ diamond knowledge and create passion for selling diamonds.
What do you love about retail?
I love being part of special occasions with our clients and helping them find their perfect piece. Jewellery can hold lots of importance for people, and we get to be part of their experience. I also enjoy working as part of a passionate team.
What makes the in-store experience so special?
Shopping for jewellery is unlike any other retail experience, you will always get a personalised approach from our helpful sales consultants. We will use our knowledge and expertise to help, always with our clients’ best interests at heart.
We love to make our clients’ visits memorable, to that end we can offer private viewing rooms and refreshments. There is nothing like a glass of bubbles to celebrate a special occasion.
What are your favourite ranges?
Diamonds are my personal favourite; I love being part of such a special moment with my clients. I enjoy making it an experience, by sharing all the interesting and fascinating information I know about diamonds.
When you understand the journey your diamond went through from formation, right through to setting, into a beautiful piece of jewellery, it makes it even more special. I love feeling that excitement with my clients.
Do you have any early jewellery memories you’d like to share?
My earliest jewellery memory is that my auntie worked in a jewellers and she pierced my ears for me as a child which was so exciting at the time.
What was the first piece you bought at Fields?
The first big thing I purchased at Fields was a diamond-set Raymond Weil watch for my 21st birthday. I still wear this watch every day, and after 13 years it is still in great condition. That is the beauty of investing in a luxury watch, the quality will last a lifetime.
What’s on your Fields wish list?
I have my eye on a Northern Star yellow gold solitaire diamond ring, it's so pretty.
They are perfect when worn on their own or can be accessorised with other hoops or even stud earrings. It can also of course be worn with a number of different earrings to create the seriously on-trend stacked look.
